When God ordains anything, it shall come to fruition. Ordained Pastor, Alice J. Burrow is a true woman of God. She has worked n her professions as a Psychotherapist, Nurse and teacher for over 30 years and raised 6 children.
Overseer Alice’s family was taken aback initially by her decision to start a church at retirement age but they were supportive. At the beginning, she held church services in her home. Then she moved out to a rented daycare space. Presently the church is located at 3700 Old Frederick Road in Baltimore. When Overseer Burrow first saw the building, she liked it but the asking price was far more than its worth at that time due to the amount of work needed.
A praying woman, Overseer prayed about the situation and a couple of days later, the owner called and told Overseer that “The Lord kept me up for two nights straight and told me to let you have the building”. She dropped the price significantly.
When she went to register the church, Overseer discovered that the neighborhood where the church as located was not zoned for a church. Knowing that God was clear that the church was His desire and will, Overseer filed a petition to get the zoning. A local church wrote a letter in support of the zoning and even offered their grounds for parking and outdoor functions. The Head of the neighborhood association wrote a letter and the zoning was granted on the first try (Look at God!)
As a crowning touch, God touched the heart of Samuel Burrow (Alice’s husband) to use his carpentry skills to transform the building into the lovely sanctuary it is today.
